Why travelers love it
“A refined escape on the untouched shores of Miches”
Zemi Miches stands out for its striking design, lush landscaped grounds, and a more secluded Dominican coastline than the busy Punta Cana strip an hour west. Guests rave about the rooms, cleanliness, and the upgraded Club Azure experience, though service polish in the restaurants and a swimmable-but-unremarkable beach are common caveats.
Food & drink
StrongRestaurant dishes punch above typical all-inclusive standards, with a comprehensive buffet backing up the à la carte lineup. Variety within individual restaurants can feel narrow, and F&B service is the least polished part of the operation.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Italian restaurant and Sports Bar standouts
- Comprehensive buffet for breakfast and lunch
- Kids menus at most venues
- Yuca & Toa a local favorite
Heads up
- À la carte menus feel limited in variety
- Restaurant service occasionally slow or choppy
- Dinner bookings run through a sometimes clunky app
Dining overview
At least six restaurants and six bars/lounges spanning Caribbean, Taíno heritage, Thai street food, Amalfi Coast, food‑hall concept, beach grill, coffee/rum bar, sports bar, swim‑up bar and rooftop lounge.
Beach
StrongA serene, white-sand beach framed by palms and mountains, more natural cove than manicured resort strip. Beverage service extends all the way down the sand.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Soft white sand and calm scenery
- Beach servers deliver drinks to loungers
- Umbrellas set up on request
- Mountain-and-palm backdrop unique to Miches
Heads up
- Not the classic wide Punta Cana beach some expect
- Feels more natural than a traditional beach scene
Playa Esmeralda is a long, natural stretch of golden sand backed by mountains rather than a built-up hotel row, which gives it a wild, untouched feel. The tradeoff is that ocean swimming can be inconsistent — guests note rougher water, occasional seaweed, and currents that make the pools the more popular option.

Pools
StrongMultiple pools including a stunning infinity pool with beach views, plus swim-up bars that become social hubs thanks to standout bartenders. The one real weakness is not enough loungers when the resort is busy.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Infinity pool overlooking the beach
- Swim-up bars with beloved bartenders (Danny Boy, César, Sergio)
- Club Azure has its own pool areas
- Pool exercise and activities daily
Heads up
- Loungers scarce; guests set alarms to claim them
- Chair-saving culture at peak times
The resort has multiple pools spread across the property, including a family pool with a swim-up bar, a quieter adults-only Club Azure pool, and a small kids' water area with slides. The Azure pool in particular draws strong reviews for its setting, service, and standout bartenders.

“Our experience at Zemi, an honest review.

The Good:
The resort is only about 18 months old, so the property is fairly new, clean, and well-kept. It is a beautiful place. The rooms, hallways, lobby, pool areas, facilities and shops are all very nice and contemporary while still honoring Dominican culture. More importantly, the landscaping is gorgeous and a real highlight.

We visited in mid-October with about 50% occupancy, which is what we wanted. We were looking for peace...”
