Why travelers love it
“Spacious family‑friendly suites and a flexible optional all‑inclusive plan steps from Banderas Bay”
Recent guest reviews consistently praise friendly, attentive staff—especially poolside and bar service—and the convenient location near downtown and the beach
Food & drink
StrongFood generally lands well, especially breakfast and standout dinners at The Market and La Trattoria, but à la carte reservations are chaotic and prices sting if you skip the all-inclusive.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Buffet breakfast praised repeatedly
- Special diets (gluten-free, low sodium) accommodated
- Standouts at The Market and La Trattoria
- Attentive pool and beach food service
Heads up
- Reservation system for à la cartes is confusing
- Very expensive à la carte if not on AI plan
- Occasional misses: warm shrimp cocktail, burnt pizza
Dining overview

Pools
StrongPools are the social heart of the resort, powered by a genuinely beloved pool-concierge crew (Bryan, Alfredo, Joaquin) more than by size or design.

“It a smaller, older complex with some renovations being done. The updated rooms are fabulous. New paint, clean/fresh bathrooms and COLD air conditioner. The older rooms are damp from swamp cooler a/c system and not slightly cool. But, Most of the staff we encountered during our stay were pleasant, friendly and very helpful.

We would stay here again.”

What to Know
Come prepared for a heavy timeshare push from arrival onward, and book the all-inclusive plan up front to avoid sticker shock.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Central downtown location, walkable to Malecón
- Uber works well from the airport (skip paid transfer)
- Buffet breakfast typically included even off AI
- Long-tenured staff remember repeat guests
Heads up
- Persistent timeshare/'membership' sales pressure
- Reports of timeshare buyout promises not honored
- Portions of the property under renovation
- Reservation policy for restaurants is inconsistent
- Reports of a broken elevator emergency system
WATCH OUT: Seasonal heads-up
- Rainy season runs June through October with afternoon thunderstorms
- Hurricane season peaks August through October on Mexico's Pacific coast
Puerto Vallarta airport (PVR) is roughly 10 minutes away, making this one of the easier transfers in Mexico. The Hotel Zone location means you can walk or take a short cab to Marina Vallarta and the Malecón. Tipping in pesos is appreciated, and the all-inclusive plan is usually offered as an add-on — price out room-only versus AI to see which fits your trip.
Good to know
- Suites include kitchenettes with fridge and microwave — handy for families
- All-inclusive is typically optional, not mandatory
- Only about 10 minutes from PVR airport and close to downtown
- Property leans traditional in style; rooms are comfortable rather than contemporary
- Kids club and evening entertainment make it work for families
