Why travelers love it
“All‑inclusive wellness resort with redesigned suites, spa, kids’ club and swim‑up amenities”
Guests consistently praise attentive, friendly service and the refreshed pools with swim‑up bar. Families appreciate the kids club and wellness focus.
Food & drink
StrongBreakfast is the consistent bright spot with custom omelettes, quesadillas, and beachside buffet views, and specialty spots like Call Me Lalo and Arrecifes earn genuine praise. Dinner options thin out during shift changes, and pre-renovation stays flagged empty, overpriced restaurants.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Custom omelettes and quesadillas at breakfast
- Shrimp burger at Call Me Lalo
- Gourmet cocktails at Flora bar
- Beachside taco shop
Heads up
- Dead zone between 5:00 and 6:30pm with nothing open
- Some venues felt empty and overpriced pre-relaunch
Dining overview
Six distinct dining venues in Gourmet Gallery plus multiple outdoor options. Beach
StrongA compact beach with soft sand, shaded cabanas, and attentive service from hosts like Adriana and Antonio. It's not a huge stretch, but it's well-run and comfortable.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Beachside cabanas with dedicated hosts
- Attentive drink and towel service
- Breakfast on the beach with wave sounds
- Kayaking directly from the beach
Heads up
- Beach footprint is on the smaller side
The resort sits directly on a soft-sand beach in Marina Vallarta with calmer water than the open Banderas Bay coastline. Conditions are pleasant for walking and wading, though the sand is darker and the water less postcard-blue than the Riviera Nayarit beaches north of the airport.
Pools
StrongPool service is the signature strength, with Angel, Paul, Eduardo, and Gabby remembered by name for chair-hunting, drink runs, and genuine warmth. A swim-up bar and separate kids pool round out the layout.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Standout poolside servers (Angel, Paul, Eduardo)
- Swim-up bar
- Separate kids pool with shaded seating
- Peaceful pool atmosphere during the day
Heads up
- Reports of dead bugs and unclean deck at one stay
- Kids sometimes in the adult pool
Two free‑form outdoor pools including an adults‑only pool with swim‑up bar and whirlpool, plus children’s play area and hot tubs.

What’s included

- Spacious junior suites
- Walkable to Marina and Malecon
- Strong service that softens rough edges
- Solid ResortPass day-use option
Heads up
- High nightly rates for a dated feel

Peace & Quiet
MixedThe pool deck and grounds can feel peaceful, but recent stays were dogged by daytime construction noise and thumping music, plus nighttime sound bleeding in from the resort next door. Evening entertainment on-property is minimal.
high confidence

- Relaxing beachside cabanas

Heads up
- Jackhammer and construction noise during the day

“I have traveled to this region several times and have never experienced a mosquito problem like this at a hotel. The mosquitoes are so bad that we cannot even sit and relax around the pool. We have to cover ourselves completely, and our feet and hands are constantly being bitten. This has significantly affected our ability to enjoy the hotel’s outdoor areas.<br>The food options were disappointing for an all-inclusive resort. Know before you book
- Beach footprint is on the smaller side
- Dead zone between 5:00 and 6:30pm with nothing open
- Some venues felt empty and overpriced pre-relaunch
- Reports of dead bugs and unclean deck at one stay
What you should know
What to Know
The property recently transitioned to all-inclusive after a renovation, and lingering construction, closed venues, and dated bathrooms have caught bookers off guard. Location is the trump card: the Marina and Malecon are steps away.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Walking distance to Marina shopping and restaurants
- Free activities like kayaking, tennis, mixology
- ResortPass access for cruise passengers
- Marriott Bonvoy loyalty applies
Heads up
- Ongoing construction noise not disclosed at booking
- Some restaurants and the spa closed during transition
- Bathrooms and finishes feel dated despite recent refresh
- Pre-arrival reservation cancellations reported
WATCH OUT: Seasonal heads-up
- Banderas Bay can see occasional jellyfish blooms in summer
- Hurricane season runs June through November, with peak risk August–October
- Christmas/New Year and Semana Santa weeks book up fast and run noticeably more expensive
PVR airport is roughly a 5–10 minute drive, so even short trips feel worthwhile. You're inside the Marina Vallarta district, which is quieter than the Zona Romántica but walkable to the marina boardwalk, restaurants, and shops; downtown is a 15–20 minute taxi or Uber ride. Tipping in USD or pesos is appreciated even on an all-inclusive plan, and most front-of-house staff speak English.
Good to know
- Less than 10 minutes from Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR)
- Located in the quieter Marina Vallarta district, not downtown or Zona Romántica
- Pet-friendly, which is unusual for an all-inclusive
- Earns and redeems Marriott Bonvoy points
- Marina Vallarta Golf Club is right next door
