Why travelers love it

“Beachfront resort in Puerto Vallarta’s Romantic Zone with free Wi‑Fi and a spa”

Guests praise the location, especially proximity to the Romantic Zone and Malecon, as well as friendly staff and clean public areas

Best for walking access to downtownBest for couplesBest for all‑ages family stay

Food & drink

Mixed

Buffet is the heart of the all-inclusive, with fresh, rotating options that most find genuinely good, though the package covers only the main restaurant and pool bar. Standards have improved recently, but a few call the spread basic or the service uneven.

Dining overview

Offers on‑site dining with oceanfront restaurant Mi Pueblito and palapa bar El Agave plus European‑plan option

Beach

Strong

A genuine beachfront location on Playa Los Muertos with attentive chair-and-umbrella service is a real draw, even if the entry is more rocky than powder-soft. Convenience beats pristine sand here.

Editorial beach rating

Small golden‑sand beach directly in front of the hotel, with lounge chairs and active vendors, easy walk to the Malecon

Pools

Strong

The multi-level pool with a rock waterfall is consistently one of the highlights, kept clean and well-staffed with big beach towels on tap. Chairs can get scarce at peak times and it fills with kids during holidays.

Editorial pool rating

Multiple outdoor pools including an infinity pool with a pool bar, no water slides, lively vibe

Rooms & suites

Colonial‑Mexican style rooms and suites, some recently refurbished, room service available

Room details here are AI-assisted, compiled from the resort's own website and public sources. Categories and names change often — confirm the exact room when you book.

What’s included

Strong

For the Romantic Zone address and beachfront, the price is genuinely fair, and repeat guests come back for decades. But value hinges entirely on which room you land in, and the all-inclusive upgrade doesn't deliver the same range as bigger resorts.

Package inclusions and upgrade access have not been collected yet. Confirm them for your room and dates when booking.

Amenities & activities

Couples

Good fit

The Romantic Zone location, beachfront setting, and lobby-restaurant vibe make this a charming, walkable base for couples who want old-town Vallarta on their doorstep. Just know it's not adults-only, and room quality is a coin flip that can dent the mood.

Families

Stretch

Kids can splash in the shallow pool and the beach is right there, but there's no kids club, extra guests can trigger surprise fees, and moldy or noisy rooms have upset families more than once. Fine for a short town-based stay, not a dedicated family resort.

Peace & Quiet

Weak

This is a lively old-town hotel, not a retreat: street-side rooms hear the Romantic Zone until the small hours, and beach vendors approach frequently. Ocean-view rooms on higher floors are the only reliable path to calm.

Offers spa, infinity pool with pool bar, beachfront location, walking access to shops and nightlife

What past guests say

“So many things wrong with this hotel. Our reservation for two stated it was for a queen bed and that it was a special package deal that came with dinner. When we arrived they said that they don’t offer queen beds just full, doubles or king. Unfortunately they did not have king beds so we were stuck with doubles. For the promised dinner as part of promotion they said it was offered in error and did not honor it. The worst part about this hotel is the uncleanliness of it. The bathroom shower...”

“This is not worth the money. It's not even really a resort, it's just a hotel on the beach. The rooms are mildewed and poorly maintained, have rock hard beds we couldn't sleep at all. Our toilet was broken and we had to ask them dour times to fix it. We were disabled they kick everyone out of the pool and lounge area by 10 at the latest so unless you like to go to clubs there's nothing to do but sit in your uncomfortable room. When you're on the beach or on the restaurant you're relentlesly...”

“Attempted to walk thru lobby to open court yard to restaurant. Manuel is terrible for business!
Rudely stopped by (security) and was pointed to go to the street.
I was one of six people coming to go to restaurant on the corner beach side of the property that has sometimes a buffet and at night entertainment.
Now I admit I don't know Spanish but pointed at the resturant and said restaurant and food but this apparent security was not going to have me walking thru what they apparently...”

“It was a disappointing experience; the room I booked wasn't suitable. If you go out looking for a place to rest, this hotel didn't offer it. I requested a room change. When I asked about changes, they indicated that the reservation didn't meet the requirements (there was a lack of communication from the lobby manager; the tourist requested assistance, and it was terrible, as was the very meager buffet; the service was not what I expected). At the end, they tried to "compensate" me in some...”

“⭐ Extremely Disappointing Experience at Los Arcos Resort in Puerto Vallarta Our experience at Los Arcos Resort in Puerto Vallarta was absolutely horrible and far below our expectations. The room was dirty, outdated, and in desperate need of renovation. The food was very disappointing, and the constant interruptions from vendors on the beach made it difficult to relax and enjoy our vacation. The experience was so bad that we had to leave the resort within just two hours of arriving and move...”

Know before you book

Not for:light sleepers
 • Entry can be rocky
 • Persistent vendor approaches
 • All-inclusive limited to main restaurant and pool bar
 • A few call the buffet poor or basic

What you should know

What to Know

Book with eyes open: this is an older property where renovated rooms are worth insisting on, and the all-inclusive covers only the main restaurant and pool bar. Location and staff carry the experience; management of the room stock does not.
