Beachfront all‑inclusive resort nestled in gardens with waterfalls just south of downtown Puerto Vallarta

Food & drink

Mixed

Food is the resort's weakest link: buffets can taste tired and dry, à la carte reservations mean long lines, and multiple guests reported stomach issues. Bright spots exist at Ekinox and when the kitchen is on, but expectations should stay modest.

Dining overview

Three restaurants: El Pescador (seafood buffet & a la carte, all meals), La Trattoria (Italian a la carte dinner); plus lobby bar, pool bar, snack bar

Beach

Standout

The beach is the standout reason to book: soft sand, clean shoreline, and some of the best water in Vallarta with gentle waves. Even critics of the food and service concede the beach delivers.

Detailed beach reporting coming soon.

Pools

Mixed

Pools are pleasant when the resort isn't full, with a lively activity scene and a heated option. In high season expect crowded loungers reserved at dawn and occasional complaints about cloudy water.

Rooms & suites

117 rooms

117 suites including junior, honeymoon, and presidential categories; all feature balconies, coffeemaker, cable TV, safe; some offer whirlpool tubs or small private pools

What’s included

Strong

For the price point it delivers on beach, entertainment, and rooms, but inconsistent food, maintenance lapses, and aggressive membership sales chip away at the value story. You get a solid mid-tier stay, not a luxury one.

Package inclusions and upgrade access have not been collected yet. Confirm them for your room and dates when booking.

Amenities & activities

Couples

Good fit

Couples find a genuinely romantic setup with ocean-view balconies, sunsets, and a lively-but-not-clubby vibe. Just know families share the space, so it reads more 'chill getaway' than adults-only escape.

Families

Good fit

A genuinely family-friendly resort where the Funtastic activity team, foam parties, and heated pool keep kids engaged all week. Just plan around late lunch times and a few age restrictions.

Peace & Quiet

Mixed

Most days feel relaxed with moderate waves and a mellow beach, but pool speakers, whistle-blowing hosts, and wedding parties regularly shatter the peace. If quiet is non-negotiable, this isn't your resort.

Outdoor pool, children’s pool, gardens with waterfalls, beach access, concierge, laundry and car rental (surcharges), fitness/gym, free parking

What past guests say

“This time it wasn't what I expected. I just arrived today, Sunday, November 1st, 2026, and I still have 5 days left. Honestly, it's terrible that they don't warn guests that it's under renovation. That makes for a bad hotel. It's stressful to hear a machine running all day and also to put up with the rude people inside, including the employees. The restaurants are too small; one of them, an Italian restaurant, doesn't allow minors. The service is awful. I think it's very expensive for what...”

“SCAM. They advertise the hotel as 5 stars, but it doesn't even qualify as one. To begin with, the food is terrible: tasteless, with no variety, or simply nonexistent. The bartenders deny you everything; they only have the most basic cocktails, and others just say "we're out." It's the hotel of "we're out" and "I don't have it"—they deny you everything. I was at the bar with my husband, and a waiter was carrying some drinks on a tray that looked brown. We asked him what they were, and he said...”

“The hotel is generally good. I happened to stay during renovations, so only one pool was open. They have three restaurants, but I could only use two because I was with children. My recommendation is that if they're planning renovations and know that not the entire hotel will be operational, they should limit their reservations so everyone can enjoy their stay and both guests and staff can comfortably carry out their activities. My room leaked for some reason, and I had a baby who was...”

Know before you book

  • Maintenance issues: cold or small pools, broken dispensers
  • Spotty Wi‑Fi connectivity
  • Small beach and limited sun at pool
  • Sand tracks into the pool area

What you should know

What to Know

Come for the beach and the Funtastic crew, but arrive prepared: expect membership sales pressure, slow check-ins, late lunch service, and occasional power cuts from the local grid. High season amplifies every friction point.

Beach is small; pool area gets no sun until early afternoon; dinner restaurants require semiformal dress; Wi‑Fi may be spotty; bring sunscreen and book specialty restaurants early
