Beach

Standout

A calm, clear little cove with reef fish and stingrays visible from shore, plus a second beach at El Arrocito; the standout reason repeat guests come back.

Editorial beach rating

Four exclusive beaches—Secreta, Manzanilla (main beach with palapas and bar service), Tornillo (famed for beauty), and Ventura (coral reef and safe snorkeling).

Pools

Strong

Clean pools with fun activity staff running water aerobics and games; not a swim-up-bar scene, but well maintained and lively enough for families.

Editorial pool rating

Three pools including a sports pool, a large semi-Olympic pool, and an adults-only pool.

What’s included

Strong

Strong value for a premium family retreat: quality food, real service, included water sports, and a stunning setting justify the price for most.

Amenities & activities

Couples

Stretch

Romantic cliffside views and calm coves make it pleasant for couples, but the family-friendly energy and lack of nightlife mean it skews more relaxed retreat than romance headliner.

Families

Ideal

This is the resort's beating heart: a genuinely warm kids club with patient, professional babysitters, safe grounds, and enough activities to let parents actually unwind.

Peace & Quiet

Standout

Peaceful by design, with birds, squirrels, and park-like grounds; if you want a party resort, look elsewhere.

Facilities are extensive for the destination: tennis and squash courts, a spa, fitness center, kids' club with indoor and outdoor play areas, evening entertainment, and shops. Multilingual staff, concierge service, and a 24-hour front desk round out the offering.

What past guests say

“I love”

★★★★★

“I loved the hotel; it was very comfortable and welcoming. The design blends seamlessly with the environment, incorporating vegetation and making you feel immersed in nature while maintaining all the comforts of a modern hotel. There are wild animals that aren't invasive but are easily spotted, and it's pleasant to observe them. The Oaxacan and Mexican food is excellent, and the salsas are definitely spicy. It's not a hotel geared towards foreigners; as a Mexican tourist, I felt comfortable...”

“I thought that with the high demand they would have more staff at reception, but they can't keep up with all the people who arrive. Also, if you arrive early, they don't give you your room until 3 pm. The only restaurant you can eat at is Bella Vista. I'm not complaining about the food, but for two nights' stay, it's only one à la carte dinner, which I think is very bad, and some of the staff's attitudes made me doubt my stay.”

“My experience at the Las Brisas Huatulco hotel was excellent. I especially appreciated the friendliness of the staff, the variety of events and activities, and the delicious and varied food. I believe it's a great option for those looking to relax and enjoy a complete experience during their stay.”

What you should know

What to Know

The property sprawls across a cliffside, so plan on golf cart shuttles between your room, the beach, and Bellavista dining; book à la carte restaurants at check-in and bring bug spray.

Languages spokenSpanish, English
HUX nearest airport~20 min transfer

WATCH OUT: Seasonal heads-up

  • June through October is rainy season on Mexico's Pacific coast, with the highest chance of tropical storms in September
  • Pacific surf can be stronger outside the protected cove during winter swell season

Expect hills and rely on shuttle carts; wi‑fi may be weak in rooms; reservations needed for a la carte restaurants.

Good to know

  • The resort is built into a cliff — expect stairs and use the shuttle if mobility is a concern
  • The private beach is a small protected cove, not a long open stretch of sand
  • Specialty restaurants require reservations, so book early in your stay
  • Huatulco is quieter and less touristy than Cancun or Riviera Maya — fewer English speakers and excursions
  • Tennis, squash, and a kids' club with indoor play area make this a strong rainy-day or active-family pick
