Why travelers love it
“All‑ages beachfront resort with family‑friendly amenities and optional all‑inclusive plan.”
Guests appreciate the beachfront setting and family‑oriented amenities like pools, whirlpools, and kids club, all backed by optional all‑inclusive dining.
Food & drink
MixedFood is a mixed bag: flavor is better than expected for the price point, but variety is thin and the à la carte program is essentially one restaurant plus a snack bar. Standout waiters (Diego, Jared, Ana, Oswaldo) do more for the dining experience than the menu itself.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Flavor above typical mass-market resort fare
- Attentive, named waiters and captains
- Chef Julio's paella singled out
- Decent salads, fruit, fish, chicken
Heads up
- Repetitive buffet, limited protein variety
- À la carte is essentially one restaurant plus a snack
- Shrimp and some basics cost extra
- Breakfast options bland and inconsistent
Dining overview
Offers buffet and a la carte international and Mexican cuisine across multiple restaurants and four bars.
Beach
MixedYou get a Puerto Vallarta beachfront location, but the beach itself is average: trash in the mornings, aging palapas that give out by early afternoon, and no real waiter service at the beach bars.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- On-sand access with ocean views
- Walkable to downtown along the bay
Heads up
- Morning trash on the sand
- Shade huts old, short, and insufficient after 1pm
- No beach waiter service, self-serve from bar
Direct beachfront access on Banderas Bay with palapas and sunbeds available.
Pools
MixedTwo small pools that photograph better than they swim: water runs cold, edges show grease buildup, and lounger supply is short. The animation team at the pool is the redeeming feature.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Lively pool animation (Daniel especially)
- Pool bar staff make drinks to order
- Separate kids pool area
Heads up
- Pools small, cold, and dated
- Grease along waterline, sand at the bottom
- Not enough loungers, limited shade
- No swim-up bar
Three swimming pools including one with a slide for children; some pools feature infinity edge and sea views; operating hours vary by season.
What’s included
MixedPriced like a three-star and delivers a three-star: fine if you booked knowing it's a budget, dated property near downtown Vallarta, painful if you expected a resort. Around $2,300 for the week for two is the reality check.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Genuinely low nightly rate
- Location close to Puerto Vallarta activities
- Food quality reasonable for the price
Heads up
- Facilities visibly dated and under-maintained
- Paid extras (ocean view, shrimp, parking) chip away at the deal
- Some rooms in poor condition (smells, pests, broken fixtures)
Package inclusions and upgrade access have not been collected yet. Confirm them for your room and dates when booking.
Amenities & activities
Couples
StretchWorkable for a low-key anniversary or budget getaway, but this is not a romantic property: dated rooms, construction noise next door, and a family atmosphere dominate. Couples looking for polish should look at Krystal Grand next door instead.
medium confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Anniversary stays praised the restaurant service
- Small footprint means short walks
- Close to downtown Puerto Vallarta
Heads up
- Tired rooms, hard mattresses, thin bedding
- Construction noise from adjacent project
- No romantic adults-only zones or ambiance
Families
StretchMarketed and used as a family hotel, with a kids area and pool activities that some families love, but tight kids-pool hours (noon to 6pm), weak entertainment, and maintenance issues frustrate others. Best for undemanding families on a budget.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Dedicated kids pool and family activities
- Aquaerobics and animation crew (Daniel, Mayra, Valeria) win fans
- Compact layout, easy to navigate with kids
- Close to Puerto Vallarta attractions
Heads up
- Kids pool only open midday, peak sun exposure
- Entertainment program thin and low-energy
- Beach reported dirty in mornings
Peace & Quiet
WeakNot a peaceful retreat. Daytime construction from the neighboring build runs 8am to 8pm, hallway and balcony noise carry into the night, and the entertainment (when it happens) can't compensate. Light sleepers should book elsewhere.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Some quieter corners away from the pool
Heads up
- Construction noise all day from next-door project
- Hallway shouting, balcony music, kids running late at night
- Thin adjoining-room doors carry sound
- Loud, old AC units
Features spa, gym, kids club, whirlpools, gardens, live music on weekends, event spaces, gym, service amenities like laundry and ticket desk.

What past guests say
“I'm giving it one star because otherwise I can't leave a comment. Terrible experience.
A week before choosing hotels, I called Krystal to ask for information. They told me they had four pools, a kids' club, and that I could use the facilities upon arrival, regardless of the time, and that the room would be available until 3 pm.
We arrived and the kids' club wasn't open, the large pool was under repair, and we couldn't use the facilities until 12 pm. The pools were incredibly crowded....”
★☆☆☆☆
“Good location but terrible service, from the slow check-in (up to an hour waiting for a room), the room isn't ready at the scheduled time, the keys get deprogrammed and you have to go to reception to get it fixed, the wristband they give you doesn't have a secure clasp and can come loose without you noticing, and they charge you from 600-1400 for a lost one.”
★☆☆☆☆
“The hotel has several areas under construction. Curiously, the spaces they advertise as attractions on their website are either closed or under construction.

The rooms are clean, but the appliances don't work. The phones have no dial tone, and the TVs don't have remotes. They bring you the remote after several hours of waiting for it to be charged, and even then, they bring you the wrong one. When they finally find one that works, the TV screen has lines that demonstrate the lack of...”

“Beautiful hotel and nice rooms, only one employee was very arrogant, but the manager was very professional. Excellent place.”
★★★★★
“The maintenance feels a bit neglected, the furniture is worn, the room's screen didn't work (they replaced it but couldn't program it), the pool area is very small and neglected, and the food lacks variety and flavor.”

What to Know
Do not confuse this with Krystal Grand next door: it's the older, cheaper sister property, and the neighboring construction is loud and unavoidable. Book with realistic expectations and expect self-service at the beach and pools.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Short walk or bus ride to downtown Puerto Vallarta
- Front-desk and bell staff generally helpful with issues

- Adjacent construction runs roughly 8am to 8pm

- Tour desk (Eden tour cited) has drawn complaints
Check‑in from 3pm; check‑out by noon; spa and room service incur extra cost; kids club operates limited hours; verify promotion dates when booking.
