Why travelers love it

“Family-friendly Cabo all-inclusive with a swimmable beach and water park”

Guests praise the family‑friendly waterpark slides, multiple pools including an adults‑only option and attentive staff in reviews

Best for multigenerational familiesBest for families with kids who want a water parkBest for couples wanting a swimmable beach in CaboBest for destination weddingsBest for whale-watching travelers in winter

Food & drink

Strong

Broad, cuisine-hopping restaurant lineup punches above typical all-inclusive standards, with the French and Italian venues and poolside Al Pastor tacos as standouts. Expect slow service and long waits at peak, and buffet/breakfast variety that repeats day to day.

Dining overview

Eight restaurants cover Mexican, Italian, Indian, teppanyaki, and a poolside grill, plus two buffets and a 24-hour coffee shop. Standouts in reviews are the Italian (pizza and risotto), the Mexican restaurant, and the teppanyaki experience. Reservations aren't taken, so dinner is first-come, first-served and waits can stretch around 6–7 p.m.

Beach

Mixed

You get the view, the sound of the waves, and a picturesque wedding backdrop, but the surf is too rough to swim, which is a real letdown at a beach destination. Treat this as a resort with an ocean view, not a swimmable beach vacation.

Editorial beach rating

A sandy beach on the Sea of Cortés with an oceanfront setting. The resort provides loungers, and private cabanas are available to rent, but swimming in the ocean is not permitted due to strong, dangerous currents.

Pools

Standout

The pool scene is the real star: multiple pools including an oceanfront pool, adults-only pool, swim-up bar, kids pool, and water park. Attentive pool waiters (Jorge, Pedro, Edwin, Genaro all get name-checks) keep drinks and tacos flowing.

Editorial pool rating

Four pools plus two hot tubs, an adults‑only pool with attached Baja Bar, a KidZ Zone mini waterpark with five slides, splash pool and playground; swim‑up bar present

Rooms & suites

607 rooms

Rooms and suites are spacious and modern, with balconies, large bathrooms, and many offering direct ocean views — the recently refreshed deluxe oceanfront wing draws particularly strong reviews. Club-level rooms add a butler who can help wrangle dinner spots, which is genuinely useful given the no-reservations policy.

Resort View Master King

Entry-level room with a king bed facing the resort grounds rather than the water. The most affordable way in if the view is not your priority.

  • View:Resort view
  • Sleeps:3 guests

Includes

  • +private balcony

Resort View Master Double

Same footprint as the Resort View King but with two double beds, making it the cheapest option for families or friends sharing. Faces interior grounds, no ocean view.

  • View:Resort view
  • Sleeps:4 guests

Includes

  • +private balcony
  • +two double beds

Ocean View Master King

King-bed room with an angled or partial view of the Sea of Cortez. A modest upgrade over a resort-view room for travelers who want water in the frame.

What’s included

Strong

For a premium-tier Cabo all-inclusive with this much dining variety, service polish, and pool infrastructure, repeat guests consider it tough to beat on value. Just budget around the extras (transfers, top-shelf alcohol, cabanas) so you don't feel nickel-and-dimed.

Package inclusions and upgrade access have not been collected yet. Confirm them for your room and dates when booking.

Amenities & activities

Couples

Good fit

Honeymooners and anniversary travelers consistently rave, and the adults-only pool plus candlelit beach dinner setups give romance room to breathe. Just know the family-resort energy means this is not a hushed, intimate hideaway.

Families

Ideal

One of Cabo's strongest family plays: kids club, water park, multiple pools, and something for every age from toddlers to teens. A few adult-only zones and rules around family swim time can trip up parents who did not read the fine print.

Peace & Quiet

Mixed

Set away from the Cabo San Lucas party corridor, the property leans relaxing with quiet corners easy to find, but the main pool gets rowdy in the afternoon and nightly foam parties and fire shows keep energy up. Better described as balanced than truly serene.

Includes spa, fitness center with yoga and pickleball, cabanas, KidZ Club with waterpark slides, swim‑up bar, multiple restaurants and bars, 24‑hour room service

“First Thank you GEO!!!! The Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos is a beautiful property. The rooms are somewhat dated the location if you’re in a shared transfer is a little bit far but what they lack in room and distance they make up for and absolutely phenomenal food and Service Geo, the young man that worked, the pool cabana was phenomenal, went above and beyond. I believe he had rollerskates on that young man moved with proficiency and remembered everybody’s order. He was phenomenal the Italian...”

“Customer service is non-existent. They only know how to take your money. I contacted customer support multiple times via email, but to this day no one has gotten back to me, and it’s already been several weeks. As a loyal customer of the Hyatt chain, I am extremely disappointed. 😒I will not be coming back.”

“The pool staff at Hyatt Ziva were absolutely amazing! Their service, attentiveness, and friendly attitudes made our pool days even better. They worked hard to make sure everyone was taken care of, always with a smile and a great attitude. It’s the people who go above and beyond that make a vacation truly memorable, and this team definitely did that. Huge shoutout to Misrain, Saul and the entire pool crew for making our stay that much better. You guys are the best! We’ll definitely be back! 🍹☀️”

What you should know

What to Know

Book your own airport transfer (the hotel's rate is roughly five times market), reserve or arrive early at popular restaurants, and set expectations that the ocean is for looking, not swimming. Better alcohol tier, cabanas, and some pool loungers are paid upgrades.

WATCH OUT: Seasonal heads-up

  • Gray whale season runs roughly mid-December through mid-April — book oceanfront for balcony viewing
  • Hurricane season in the eastern Pacific runs June through November, with September the peak risk
  • Winter evenings in Cabo can be cool and breezy — bring a light layer

Club Swim-Up suites and Oceanfront rooms are available only for guests 13 and older.

Good to know

  • Only about 15 minutes from SJD airport — one of the shortest transfers in Cabo
  • One of the few Cabo-area resorts with a regularly swimmable beach
  • Restaurants don't take reservations; Club level includes a butler who can help
  • Cabanas and in-water loungers carry steep daily fees (~$179)
  • Pool chairs not claimed early can be moved to lost and found by staff
