Why travelers love it
“One of Cabo's rare swimmable beaches, with reef snorkeling right out front”
This is one of the few Cabo resorts where you can actually swim and snorkel directly off the beach — guests routinely call the reef out front some of the best in the area. Service is the standout (cleanliness and bartenders earn particular praise), though the property is older and the check-in timeshare pitch is a known irritant.
Food & drink
StrongA genuine strength: multiple à la carte venues plus a chef's-kiss breakfast buffet, with El Mexicano and Rosato's tableside guac and flambé desserts as the headliners.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- El Mexicano tableside guacamole
- Rosato Italian a repeat favorite
- Breakfast buffet consistently praised
- Complimentary anniversary desserts
Heads up
- Peninsula beach restaurant closed for some stays
- Bartenders struggle with classic martinis
- A few isolated meals arrived undercooked
Dining overview
Around eight restaurants span Mexican, Italian, Asian, a ceviche bar and a large international buffet (Viña del Mar), plus themed culture nights. Most guests rave about food quality, though service at the breakfast buffet and at Peninsula gets repeated complaints about slowness.

Beach
StandoutA rare Cabo beach you can actually swim in, with fish and crabs visible in clear water right off the sand, a genuine differentiator on this coastline.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Swimmable water, unusual for Cabo
- Fish and small marine life visible from shore
- Attentive beach service from the Bikini Bar
- Kids can safely wade
Heads up
- Peninsula beach restaurant intermittently closed
- Limited all-day beachside dining when it's shut
A protected cove on the Tourist Corridor with calm, swimmable water — a genuine rarity in Los Cabos, where most beaches are too rough to enter. The reef just offshore makes for excellent shore snorkeling; bring your own gear and water shoes.

Pools
StandoutMultiple pools spread across the property mean you'll always find a chair, with strong swim-up service and infinity views over the Sea of Cortez.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Numerous pools, never overcrowded
- Infinity edges with dramatic views
- Bartenders Abraham and Juan run the pool bar
- Shallow zones alongside deeper adult areas
Heads up
- Water runs hot in peak summer
- Some pool maintenance showing its age
Six outdoor pools including an adult‑only option and a swim‑up bar

What’s included
StrongSolid mid-to-upper premium value for Cabo, especially in shoulder season, though the 20-year-old bones show in dated rooms and worn AC units.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Strong shoulder-season pricing
- Club level upgrade genuinely worthwhile
- Plentiful food and top-shelf drinks
- Repeat guests return year after year
Heads up
- Some rooms look tired, noisy AC

“Great Stay at Resort! Got a tour of property and strongly considering buying in. Jorge was our sales guy! Highly recommend him. We had a Great fun time with wonderful Friends John and Amy Vigil . “Giving Time More Life”. Our favorite place was the steak dinner but the buffet was pretty stellar due to the super hot habanero salsa. Ask for the fresh eggs, the yolk is dark orange which is a great sign of the organic quality of the ingredients. We are Asian but did not care for the Asian food...”

“There were many issues in the room, including the noisy air conditioning, and the TV. Every night we had to call reception for a technician to come and set it up. The shower leaked, and there was very little entertainment in the evenings, and what little there was was very basic. It was my birthday, and I didn't receive any special treatment, even though they had promised otherwise. They didn't change my room. The breakfast buffet was very basic. There was construction at the hotel near the...”

Know before you book
- Aggressive timeshare sales pitch at check-in
- Slow, inconsistent service at the breakfast buffet and Peninsula
- Upselling pressure at La Bodega steakhouse
- Property feels older in some areas
Location
Carretera Federal Corredor Turístico, Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, 23455, Mexico

What to Know
Book direct if you can: third-party reservations (Costco, lastminute.com) have triggered downgrades, billing disputes, and multi-hour check-ins. The property is large, so factor in golf-cart transfers.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Golf cart shuttles run constantly
- Club level lounge (Estela) is a real upgrade
- One-bedroom suites include laundry, bring your own detergent
- Designated cigar-friendly areas
Heads up
- Third-party bookings prone to reassignment issues
- Billing disputes reported at checkout
- Property is 20+ years old, some rooms dated
- Occasional pest and maintenance complaints
WATCH OUT: Seasonal heads-up
- December–March brings cooler ocean temps but excellent gray whale watching just offshore
- Hurricane season runs roughly August–October, with September the peak risk month for Baja Sur
Plan on about 30 minutes by van from SJD airport; Uber into downtown Cabo runs roughly USD 15–20. Expect a timeshare sales pitch at check-in — decline firmly if you'd rather skip it. Tipping in USD is appreciated even though all-inclusive, and bringing your own snorkel gear plus reef shoes is the single best piece of advice repeat guests give.
Good to know
- One of the only Cabo resorts with a swimmable beach and excellent shore snorkeling — bring gear and water shoes
- Expect a timeshare/vacation club pitch at check-in; you can politely decline
- Property is large and hilly — golf-cart shuttles run around the resort
- Breakfast service (buffet and Peninsula) draws repeated complaints about speed
- Resort doesn't do much to mark birthdays/anniversaries beyond a small dessert — set expectations accordingly
