Why travelers love it
“Adults‑only, all‑inclusive beachfront resort inspired by celebration and connection”
Guests consistently praise the vibrant programming from daily activities and champagne rituals to mixology and live music; attentive, personalized service; and diverse, high‑quality restaurants.
Food & drink
StrongRestaurant food punches well above typical all-inclusive standard, with Nami sushi, the Italian, and Azur breakfast drawing the loudest praise. Carnivore and the Mexican outlet are the weaker links, and a couple of guests flagged food poisoning.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Nami sushi and Italian are standouts
- Azur à la carte breakfast beats the buffet
- Poolside brownie and desserts get repeat mentions
- Strong celiac and allergy handling
Heads up
- Carnivore steakhouse underwhelms
- Mexican restaurant merely okay
- Isolated food poisoning reports
Dining overview
Six dining venues span Italian, Asian, steakhouse, seafood, and a breakfast buffet, and reservations are generally easy to come by. Guests consistently call out The Grill, Florella, and Flor de Sal as the best meals on property, with strong cocktails across the board.

“Spent 10 days at this adults-only hotel in the heart of Playa del Carmen, one block off 5th Avenue. The location is ideal: walkable to everything, yet quiet enough to retreat to.
The staff made the stay. Ivan, Jorge, Eric, Tessa, Andres and Carlos were friendly, attentive and always a step ahead of what we needed.
Our third-floor room was clean, spacious and had a nice view. The nightly turndown service was a welcome touch.
The lobby has a relaxed, social vibe. A DJ playing at 10am...”

Rosie answers from this resort’s guest reviews and our research — with quotes.
Know before you book
- Noise issues due to exterior‑corridor design and neighboring settings
- Beach feels overcrowded despite good service
- Public beach, can feel crowded
- Seaweed heavy in summer months
What you should know
What to Know
A newly rebranded property (formerly Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen, opened as Devossion February 2026), so expect a few operational rough edges alongside the polish. Location is the trump card: one block from Fifth Avenue.
high confidence
What you'll enjoy
- Five-minute walk to Quinta Avenida
- No timeshare pressure at check-in
- Butler service on higher tiers
- Activities schedule handed out on arrival
Heads up
- Bring small MXN bills for tipping
- Some gym machines and room fixtures need repair
- Isolated report of theft from room
- Carnivore restaurant AC issues noted
WATCH OUT: Seasonal heads-up
- Sargassum seaweed can affect the beach from roughly April through August; staff actively clear it but it varies day to day
- Hurricane season runs June through November, with peak risk August–October
Cancun airport is about a 50–60 minute drive south; book a private transfer or shared shuttle in advance. Tipping isn't required but is appreciated for butlers, bartenders, and beach servers who do a lot of the heavy lifting here. Because you're right on Quinta Avenida, plan at least one evening off-property to explore — it's one of the best location perks in the Riviera Maya.
Good to know
- You're one block from Quinta Avenida — easy to walk to shops, bars, and restaurants off-property
- The beach is public, so expect more foot traffic and vendors than at isolated Riviera Maya resorts
- Butler service and the Cenote Spa are guest-review favorites
- Some swim-up pools are unheated and can feel cold even on warm days
- A handful of guests report noise transmission between rooms through vents and corridors
