All‑inclusive family resort on a swimmable beach in Rincón de Guayabitos

Food & drink

Mixed

Food is hit or miss: solid buffet breakfasts and hot meals when the kitchen is on, but limited variety and only a couple of restaurants mean repeat menus and long waits.

Dining overview

Three main restaurants serve buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner; one transforms into a steakhouse à la carte nightly. Afternoon snack bar and three bars plus nightclub provide beverage options throughout the day.

La Canoa

Counts and access can vary by source and room tier.

Beach

Strong

The beach is the headline: soft, swimmable, and remarkably uncrowded, though the property is open to the public town so expect locals mingling in.

Detailed beach reporting coming soon.

Pools

Mixed

Multiple pools including an adults-only option, but water temperature runs cold much of the year and chair-saving is a chronic annoyance.

Detailed pool reporting coming soon.

Rooms & suites

Standard rooms in contemporary Mexican style for up to 4 guests, king or two doubles, some with balcony or terrace. Basic amenities include air conditioning, satellite TV, safe; few extras.

What’s included

Strong

Insanely affordable for what you get: clean, safe, warmly staffed, and you can hop to two sister Decameron resorts nearby for free food and drinks.

Package inclusions and upgrade access have not been collected yet. Confirm them for your room and dates when booking.

Amenities & activities

Couples

Good fit

A quiet, low-key pick for laid-back couples, with an adults-only top-floor section and calm beach; not a romance-forward luxury stay.

Families

Good fit

A genuine family atmosphere with strong kids entertainment and a swimmable beach, at a price that lets you bring everyone without stress.

Peace & Quiet

Standout

One of the calmest stretches on the Riviera Nayarit coast: uncrowded beach, mellow pool decks, and a mature crowd that keeps the volume down.

Water sports included

 • kayaking
 • paddleboarding
 • boogie boards
 • catamaran

What past guests say

“Los Cocos is no longer part of the Decameron resort. Therefore, you can't use the beach loungers, pools, bar, or restaurant. There are no bellhops at the beginning or end of your stay. Breakfast is supposed to end at 11:00, but they're already rushing you out before 10:30. If you leave more than an hour early, they'll practically drag you out. There's no longer any shuttle service from the Decameron to their other hotels like before; to get to the beach, you have to walk or pay for a taxi or...”

“I visited between October 9th and 12th ---
The bad news is that it no longer has an adults-only area ---
It no longer has a specialty restaurant ----
The beach area is no longer part of the Decameron chain ----
If you want to use sun loungers, you have to go to Decameron La Marina or Isla Coral ----
The food is improving, and they sometimes have themed dinners”

“I agree with Laura’s assessment of the hotel word for word. She posted before me. We were there 10 days and it was 10 days too long. Got no sleep and my partner and I got very sick. Wanted to leave after 3 days but were not well enough to travel. This hotel is popular for Mexicans to stay at. It is not a hotel for people looking for a vacation you wold expect for so much money. WestJet has no business adding this to their list of all inclusive destinations. We were not on the transfer list...”
