Why travelers love it

“Dated but characterful oceanfront hideaway south of Puerto Vallarta”

A smaller, older property that trades polish for a genuinely dramatic oceanfront perch and a protected cove for swimming and snorkeling. Guests come back for the views, the calm setting away from the tourist strip, and the friendly service, but expect a 1980s time-share feel rather than a modern resort.

Food & drink

Mixed

The on-site restaurant turns out surprisingly tasty plates, and the complimentary breakfast earns genuine praise. Don't expect a sprawling multi-venue lineup; this is a small resort with limited but solid options.

Dining overview

On-site restaurant service with complimentary breakfast that reviewers consistently praise. Dining is limited compared with larger all-inclusives, but the location across from a bus line makes it easy to head into Zona Romantica or Mismaloya for more variety.

Beach

Strong

A private rocky cove protected by a breakwater, ideal for snorkeling and paddleboarding but not the wide sandy strand some travelers picture. The oceanfront setting itself is the standout.

Editorial beach rating

A small, rocky private beach sheltered by a breakwater, which keeps the water calm enough for snorkeling, paddleboarding, and kayaking. It is not the wide sandy stretch you get farther north, but the cove-like setting and clear water are a real strength.

Pools

Mixed

Two pools plus a charming man-made lagoon give the small property more water than expected. Upkeep can slip, with towel shortages noted.

Editorial pool rating

Two pools plus a man-made saltwater lagoon set into the rocks below the towers, which many guests call the best feature of the property. Expect a laid-back scene rather than a lively pool party.

Rooms & suites

Rooms and suites vary widely by building. The north tower has been renovated and is the one to request; the south tower is noticeably older and more worn. Many units are studio or one-bedroom suites with full kitchens, dining areas, and oceanfront balconies.

Ocean Front Studio

Studio layout with a kitchenette, sofa bed, and private balcony facing the Pacific. All units at the resort are oceanfront, so even the entry-level category delivers the view guests come here for. Worth requesting the renovated north tower; south tower units are noticeably older and can feel run-down.

What’s included

Strong

Priced on the cheaper end and honest about what it is: dated 80s time-share bones with knockout views and a tranquil vibe. Set expectations correctly and it's a strong-value hideaway.

Package inclusions and upgrade access have not been collected yet. Confirm them for your room and dates when booking.

Amenities & activities

Couples

Good fit

An intimate oceanfront hideaway that punches above its weight for small weddings and quiet romantic escapes. The tranquil setting and dead-on sea views from private balconies do the heavy lifting.

Families

Stretch

Kids are welcome and the calm breakwater-protected cove suits gentle swimming, but there's no kids club, no waterpark, and no dedicated children's programming. Best for low-key family trips, not high-energy vacations.

Peace & Quiet

Standout

This is the quiet end of Puerto Vallarta: a small, tranquil property tucked south of the action with no party scene to speak of. If peace and ocean sounds are the priority, you've found the right spot.

Modest amenity set for the price: pools, the lagoon, a small gym (with some equipment reportedly out of service), and easy public bus access to town. Do not expect a spa, kids' club, or big-resort entertainment programming.

What past guests say

★★★★★

“Bad experience. The beach is closed! They were affected by Hurricane Simon, which is understandable, but it's baffling why they keep saying the beach will reopen in November when there isn't a single person working on the repairs. Only a small pool is open. They don't make any effort to take you to another nearby beach. When we arrived, they didn't even tell us that their main attraction was closed. The worst part is that they keep posting on social media that the beach will be ready in...”

“The pool and beach access were unavailable due to the hurricane. Everything else was fine.”

“The best place to relax”

★★★★★
Google Maps·via Google

“Terrible place to vacation. We booked rooms months in advance and upon arrival they weren't available, supposedly due to an error with the agency. Besides the fact that the hotel is old and suffered extensive damage from the hurricane (September 2026), many restaurants and pools were closed, and beach access was also unavailable. Part of the hotel is practically falling apart, yet they continue to accept guests even though there's nothing to do there.”

Rosie answers from this resort’s guest reviews and our research — with quotes.

Know before you book

  • south tower rooms feel tired and musty
  • some maintenance issues (broken shower doors, gym equipment out of order)
  • occasional shortages of pool and bath towels
  • dated decor and furnishings overall

What you should know

What to Know

Originally built in the 1980s as time-share, so rooms feel dated even where they've been refreshed. Request the north tower, the south tower has not been renovated and draws consistent complaints.

WATCH OUT: Seasonal heads-up

  • Puerto Vallarta's rainy season runs June through October, with the highest humidity and storm risk in September

Ask specifically for a north tower room when booking or at check-in; the difference in condition is significant. The public bus into Puerto Vallarta stops right across the street and is the easiest way to reach Zona Romantica and Mismaloya. Bring water shoes if you plan to swim off the beach, and tip housekeeping and restaurant staff in pesos or small US bills.

Good to know

  • North tower rooms are renovated; south tower is dated and worn
  • Beach is rocky, not sandy, but a breakwater keeps the water calm
  • Many rooms have full kitchens, useful for longer stays
  • Public bus into Puerto Vallarta stops directly across the street
  • Not a polished 5-star product; expect 1980s time-share bones
